Return, Restored, Refreshed

Just a short little update for you all...  I started to feel some intense pain last Thursday and after prayer and advice, Paul and I decided to head back to the states for some medical attention.  Pam said to me before we left, "Everyday in Haiti is a battle.  It's just a battle to live.  If you can't even battle your own body, you will not be able to join in the many other battles around you.  Go home, get well, get strong, and come back ready to battle again."  So that is what we did.
By the time we flew in last Saturday, I could hardly walk due to the pain.  We headed straight to the ER and had many tests done.  The results were all fairly good, which is great but yet it left us without many answers.  After getting on some pain medication and more powerful antibiotics, I started to feel better as the week went on.
It was a great time at home, seeing family, friends, old co-workers, and eating a lot of our favorite foods.  We also celebrated our 2 year anniversary while at home.  It was sweet, but here we sit in the airport ready to go back.  Like, really ready in our hearts to be back in Haiti.  We know it is where we are supposed to be right now.
We really want to let you all know how much we know you guys have been pulling for us in prayer and support during this time of uncertainty.  We've got the best cheering section ever!  We love you all so much.  Please don't stop praying.
Blessings and love to you all.

  1. So good to read! Glad you had a refreshing time in the states and that your bod is feeling better-- and that you're so stoked to be headed back to Haiti (in Haiti by the time you read this), that's a serious blessing, and I'm relieved to hear it! Wish we could have been in St. Pete to hug and hog you both. Fiona kisses from Scotland!
