Haiti Bound

Welcome to the spot of our blog (as Paul calls it).  We have felt a calling to move to Haiti to spread the love of Christ for some time now. We’ve had that call, individually and as a couple, since the beginning of our story.  Whelp, we have good news, folks! We are packing our bags and jumping feet first with Mission-Haiti and heading to Ti Rivière, Haiti.
The next step in our journey will start this June as we say good-bye to all that we love here and head to Haiti.  It is beautiful the way the Lord’s plan can reveal itself in such a clear, exciting, and seemingly too-coincidental way.  That is how we feel about this path the Lord has made for us.
We are joining the heart of Mission Haiti out of Tea, South Dakota in their passion to share the love of Christ and compassion to the people of Southwest Haiti.  Mission Haiti ministers to the people in Ti Rivière and the surrounding area, providing school sponsorship, an orphanage, providing medical services, elderly programs, youth groups, and evangelism to the unreached.
Paul will be working with the schools that Mission Haiti has sponsored in the community, and a few they have started and support.  A new one is planning on opening fall of 2015, which Paul will be the director of.  He will work with the boys in the community, investing and discipling them to become future leaders in the community.
Bethany’s first task, along with learning the language and culture of the Haitian people, will be working on an aquaculture on the compound where they are currently farming tilapia for food.  She will also be working with the local kids in the neighborhood, trying to get young girls involved in the mission.  We will also both help facilitate the short-term mission trips that will be arriving periodically to the compound.
In this spot of our blog, you will find tabs that will aid you in what you can be praying for us, check out on our preparation for Haiti, how you support our journey.  Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.  To God be the glory!

But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. ~Titus 3:4-7~
